Your District 3 Council Member

As you may know, I was elected to finish Karen Lupton’s term when she resigned in order to serve in the Georgia State House. During this first year in office, I have dedicated myself to learning how a successful city runs. Now, I hope to put my training to good use for a full term as your Council Member for District 3.

As I gear up to run again this year, I want to say that it is a privilege to work closely with our City Staff who keep our streets clean and safe.

Why I am Running

Since moving into the area in 2004, the City of Chamblee has been on a path of consistent improvement. During the last 18 years, the city center has transformed from a quiet place known mostly for antique shops into a thriving area with plenty of dining, shopping, and recreation options. Chamblee is fortunate to have a great city staff and a dedicated group of volunteer boards and commissions as well as thorough plans for the future. I serve to keep this growth going and improve the remaining aspects of our neighborhoods.

Bio

I am a resident of the now 3rd District of Chamblee since 2004 but grew up coming to Chamblee since the 1980s. A strong proponent of both annexation attempts, I served on the Dresden East Civic Association (DECA) during that time to give a voice to local neighborhoods with Dekalb county government.

Since annexation, my wife and I attend City Council Work Sessions regularly and completed Chamblee 101 to learn more about the city. We are lifetime members of Keep Chamblee Beautiful (KCB). In 2021, I was appointed to the Chamblee Design Review Board (DRB) that reviews development projects of a certain size (see DCI) and gives recommendations to City Council on community impact of these larger projects.

I am a Georgia Tech Electrical Engineering graduate and a Licensed Professional Engineer working at Georgia System Operations Corporation (GSOC), a not-for-profit electric utility system operator that serves Georgia’s Electric Membership Cooperatives. In my role I oversee a team of engineers with responsibility over policy and procedure development, root cause analysis, operations support, and regulatory compliance issues.
